Why do so many join Freemasonery and then never come to lodge actively?

by Kelly Street

I was just wondering if this question has been asked of members or maybe I just am shooting in the dark with this one.

This is the ultimate question.
by: George Shelley

In my case, for about 30 years, I spent all of my time at the local high school as an English teacher and videographer for everything that happened. Only after retiring, did I actually become active in Lodge. I hope that the reason our newer members can't/don't come to Lodge is that life happens.
However, I fear this is not always the case. This question is the ultimate question and we deal with it constantly. Perhaps, a business meeting is too dull, or the Lodge unknowingly puts up barriers for the new members, or the Lodge really isn't active in their community. I don't know the complete answer, but all of us need to try to deal with the question.
