Master Mason jewels

My dad just passed away and his lodge asked to have back the pin he had as Worshipful Master. It has his name engraved on the the back of it. I have attached an image of it. Can you advise me on this as I was not aware that this is the case?

I am afraid that every jurisdiction has its own jewels and own regulations. It may be that nobody here would know; in such a case, I would suggest that you contact the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts at http://massfreemasonry.org/the-grand-lodge/

To clarify, do you have it and they want it back or have they returned it to you?
