Masonic News & Views -- Lost in time
May 10, 2010
Greetings Brother,

The CowChows has been on the road this weekend for the 61st annual Midwest Masonic Education conference. If you're not familiar with it the conference is made up of thirteen midwest Masonic jurisdictions, including the province of Manitoba. It was a very successful conference and I think everyone had a great time. I know the Lady BG and I did.

The beauty, and I imagine the primary purpose, of the conference is the sharing of ideas. Representatives from the different jurisdictions come together to share what they are doing to improve and promote Masonic education. It's very interesting to learn that we are all dealing with similar challenges, and to hear the varied ideas for dealing with them. The proceedings for this year's conference will be out soon, but in the meantime you can find a lot of information about the programs of the different jurisdictions by visiting their Grand Lodge Web sites and looking for the Education portion. Links to all the jurisdictions can be found on the Midwest Masonic Education Web site by clicking here.

You can also find the proceedings from previous years there, including my own presentation during the 59th.

The only problem came as we were headed home. Somewhere along the way I made a wrong turn. I still haven't figured out where it happened but I was driving south, made a right-hand turn, and somehow wound up in Yesterday. And, now everyone is twenty-four hours ahead of me.

I was actually unaware of the problem until I was outside earlier. One of my neighbors stopped to chat and I asked if he had heard about Tiger dropping out of the Players Championships. He said, "Yeah. Yesterday." So I drove into town to get a Sunday paper, but they all said Monday and were dated tomorrow. And, that's when I knew. I was an entire day behind.

It's not all bad, though. I didn't have to change the clocks. I now have an extra day to get things done. Of course, everything is now due a day earlier than before so I guess that's kind of a wash. Besides, getting things done early is definitely not my strong suit so I would've just used the extra day anyways. I do have an extra day of shopping before Christmas, though. And, I do have one more opportunity to say, "Happy Mother's Day!"

Fraternally yours,

Tim Couch

p.s. If you should need me for anything before I get this time situation sorted out, please try to call yesterday. Thanks.
